Lord Collingwood’s Waistcoat – Traditional Embroidery Demonstration

September 15 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Free

Morpeth was the home of Admiral Lord Collingwood of Trafalgar fame. A project to recreate his famous waistcoat is being undertaken by embroiderer Angela Noble. This is an opportunity for her to explain and demonstrate the skills needed.

This event is a mixture of a demonstration of traditional embroidery skills and an opportunity to try out the stitches which will be used on the waistcoat. Angela welcomes everyone keen to have a go and to try their hand at stitch samples. It is not too complicated so all levels of ability will be able to join in. Those folk who demonstrate skill could perhaps be invited to add a motif or prepare a button to add to the waistcoat.
